enzyme therapy-Serracor

Has anyone tried this? My father in law, who is 83, has gotten so tired of the horrid cough that leaves him breathless and the constant lack of energy, that he's ready to try Serracor-NK. The internet info says the enzymes "dissolve" the fibrous tissue, but they "recommend" that you take vitamin D3 or D12 to then help "repair" the tissue. Sounds a bit scary, is not approved by the FDA, and I'm guessing no doctor would assist a patient in taking it. I can't find any impartial reviews of this treatment.

" I used to take Serrapeptase & stopped because I didn't think it was helping. After several months without Serrapeptase , I realized how much help it really was. I began taking Serracor-NK because I wanted the additional ingredients in this blend. "

" Ohana, do you have IPF? Can you tell me what kind of help you feel you get from the Serracor NK? Will it help the awful cough, etc? "

" Coughing does leave us breathless & saps our energy. I rarely cough & do not have mucous production. I think it make my lungs more pliable...easier to breathe in. I hesitated to use it but after 1 week, I could tell the difference. d3 levels can be checked with blood work & I average 1000 a day supplement. "

" It's easy for a company to bring enzimes, supplements etc. to the market without any control of the FDA. Just make a few claims how well it work or even throw in a few "experts" or "patients" and we the IPF patients will get ripped off in a hurry. I don't believe a word of what theyu write. Any loss of lung tissue to scarring WILL NEVER BE RESTORED - it's physically impossible. To me it's just another scam!!! "

" Serrapeptase is basically used to reduce pain and inflammation
in chronic airway disease.

The lung damage caused by pulmonary fibrosis can't be repaired, but medications and therapies can sometimes help ease symptoms and improve quality of life. "

" Ohana, my father has been on the Serracor NK "bundle" that includes vitamin D for a week now. He does feel some relief in that the mucus has diminished a bit and he's coughing a little less! We know it won't cure him, but it does make him feel better and I think empowered to be doing something about his own health when the doctors throw up their hands. Thank you for your input on this subject! "
