Has anyone had this sugery to diagnose their Fibrosis problem?
Did their surgery result in a definite diagnosis? How many days where you in the hospital after the procedure? Any complications? Any input would be appreciated. Sue Posted on 10/01/09, 02:10 pm |

I had this surgury and was in the hospital two days including the day of surgery but when I got home I wasn't good so I went back for another day. The surgery as it was explained to me is quite simple and miminally invasive however the fact that you are compromised in the breathing department it took quite a bit out of me and recovery was fairly extensive. They did determine for absolutely sure that I have NSIP and that it involves both lobes of my lungs. So We do know in fact what the problem is which did not change what we do about it at all. For me it was kind of a see/saw. I wanted to know but would have like to have found out some other way. Apparently there is no other way.
