How did you know he was having blood clots, any visible signs? I am clueless, but the other day had a huge knot on my let, which I assumed I had hit myself on something ... the meds make me clumsy so that's not unusual, but then it finally was gone the next morning, but a there was a huge bruise where the knot had been. I am so sorry for you and your family, this must be even more difficult for you all, especially with children to care for. My prayers are with you all. Your husband must be relatively young, so hang in there.

I found some information on this website .http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/dci/Diseases/pe/pe_what.html I know this is something they look for when you are in the ER with a lung problem. It is scary, I feel bad for you and your husband, he's so young to suffer like that. Sometimes all we can do is pray. I'm going to start doing a prayer for the whole support group ... sometimes when I can't get the questions I have about my lung illness, which is often, I feel lost and without any power in the situation. When you have a lung illness you need a good pulmonologist, a good general doctor, and an advocate doctor that will cooperate together, and that might be impossible to find. I had to go to Nat'l Jewish Hospital in Denver, Colorado to even find out what my illness was, and luckily have a "asthma doctor" locally that confered with the Denver doctor, and acts as my advocate, but still looking for the other two doctors I need to get services I need. A good local pulmonologist seems to be the most difficult for me to find. Know my thoughts are with you.

I know it's hard to deal with, but thank goodness he has you to take care of him. I am 65, and I am still able to get to a doctor or let my husband know if I need to go to a hospital, but it's one day at a time. I've been told I have an incurable lung illness, but am being treated with some medications that allow me me breathe a little better, but don't know what comes next either. I have done some research on the internet on lung illness, as I feel understanding it helps me to cope with the syptoms and whatever difficulties might be ahead. Every day is a gift, and like you I intend to smile and try to find the good in it, or on lesser days - try to get through it. Hang in there.
