Hi, I'm new to the group. I have been out of the hospital 3 weeks after suffering a PE and DVT. I don't know how long I was walking around with the clots in my lungs because I was misdiagnosed with bronchitis, then pneumonia, pulmonary hemorrhage and lung cancer...everything but PE.

After coughing blood 2 ½ weeks and a VERY close call, the second opinion Pulmonologist caught the PE. I still have chest pain, headaches, SOB, tiredness, weight gain and now depression. I am still not therapeutic, my INR is 1.6, taking 10mg Coumadin, and I have a Greenfield filter.

I still don't know what caused my PE/DVT. The only lead that I have is that ANA was detected in my blood, which points to some sort of auto immune disorder. It is frustrating and depressing not knowing what the heck is wrong. Has anyone had a clotting issue due to an auto immune disease? Did you go to a Hematologist?

" Thank you all for your insightful knowledge, it helps so much to talk with others that understand. Today was particularity a "yucky" day because I had a bad case of Pitty Party blues. I am still in my PJ's as I wright this post.

You know this is going to sound strange, however the MJ death on Thursday, I found it affecting me in a couple of ways. Not only that he was a great performer and I grew up with his music, that it as well could have been me that was found in my bed drifting away, which is probably what would have happen if it wasn't for my BFF dragging me out practically by my hair to the hospital....LOL. Oh well, tomorrow is another day and it will be a brighter day I pray.

I start with my new Primary Care tomorrow and I have an app. with a Hematologist next week so things are moving in the right direction. On Tuesday, I meet with my Pulmonologist to review my CT scan, so I hope that it is a positive meeting as well :-) I will let you guys know how things turn out. Again, thanks so much for you kind words and encouragement! "
