Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

Hi All,
I don't know if any one can offer advice. My Dr okayed me getting another tattoo ( as I will be on warfain for ever I do check these things out but don't let it stop me living) and we were trying to keep my INR low and it had been, but it pulmented a week ago an my dose had to be increased , the increased dose which I only took for 3 days prior to the tattoo and another test sent my INR from 1.3 to 4.2.
My tattoo was done and there wasn't heavy bleeding at the time pr simce. How since the tattoo dried out - anout 36hrs after being done, it has kept drying out and now the tattoo is really dry almost scabbing in many places after only 4 days (despite following aftercare of washing it daily with gentle soap and putting on antiseptic cream), there is tenderness on the tattoo but it is large with fine detail and that can be expected especially as i cant take anti inflammtories, but no constant pain, no redness, no sign of infection or large red scabs, I am concerned that I am going to loose my colours and fine details from my tattoo with the dryness and the way it is healing.
I am positive it is not infected in any way, if it was I would be heading to the Dr.
I have had tattoos before on warfain but my INR was 2 and steady and by day 4 there was none of this dryness or flaking, which is over a significant area of the tattoo.
I would appreciate advice from others who have had a tattoo especially if they had it while on warfain.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Not sure if you are on Facebook or not, but there is a great group there too. Right now there is an active discussion on tattoos.

The tattoos are on my hips so they r personal ie no one sees them unless I want them too. Friends who went on the same day and got not small but to large tattoos like me also found that there tattoos peeled to but just a few days later than mine so I feel better, with the healing almost done okay almost at 2 weeks I know it takes 4. I am really happy with the colour etc so am happy and probably shouldn't have worried , but I tend to worry now when it comes to blood and healing.
As an aside being someone who at a young age is on warfain for the rest f my life and can't come off I have chosen not to let it stop me from doing most things that I can do within medicial limits.
And I did have 2 tattooist not want to do the tattoo because of the chance of heavy bleeding etc... But the tattooist who did my work is not only a brilliant artist but has had 25 years experience and she has done tattoos on people on warfain, etc before and it hasnt affected the final quality, she said some f it might scab, but given where it is scabbing that might actually enhance the tattoo ;) out of pure luck rather than design and in a week I go back t have the ink reviewed and she will see if the colour needs a top up but given how some of the smalles ares have kept the colour it seems great.
But like everything I first talked to my dr to get the okay with doing this and then I was upfront with the tattoo artist and knew the possible side affects.
But you're right. I think doing the research, talking with the artist, feeling comfortable about it is really what's important.
