I cooked tonight..

Tonight, I cooked a wonderful dinner. I cooked chicken breasts with a mushroom white wine/cream sauce. Then, I cooked a big pot of potato soup.

I know you guys are probably like 'good for you, so what?' But, this is the first time I have cooked in over 2 months because the headache and moreso, the vertigo and dizziness wouldn't allow me to stand for that long before. I guess the Diamox must be starting to do it's job. Now here's to hoping it may totally alleviate the headache. Either way, at least now it's tolerable.

I just thought I'd share with you the first of many successes.

" Ashely

I am so happy for you. I hope it is the medication working. I know how you feel, the excitement of doing something so simple to most people is like a huge accomplishment, especially in the beginning of this illness. You are on a pretty low dose of diamox too, right?
Do not be discouraged if you get a headache or feel blah again.
I hate even saying that, but since you are so new to this I think I should tell you that your fluid fluctuates, everyone's does. My NO told me that once you've been diagnosed with ptc and have dealt with it you notice normal fluctuations that your everyday person does not notice.
I think it's a safe bet to say that if you've had a headache for 2 months and it's been relieved only after diamox it probably is the diamox. I had a tightening in my head for close to a year off and on, mostly on and it was only relieved after starting diamox. I am pretty sure that was my "pressure headache". I also think it came and went before it stayed gone, that's why I say don't be discouraged IF you get a small HA.
I hope supper was wonderful
it sounds like it was.
Betty! "

" Oh, that's such good news!. Remember, 1 day at a time! At the end of the day, think of one positive thought or action you did...maybe this is a good time for you to start your journal....

" Thanks guys for the kind words. I realized that you really do have to take it one day at a time, because yesterday wound up being awful. Hopefully TODAY is better though.

Jazzy,

I minced some onion and sauteed that a little in olive oil, then I added the mushrooms. Then I added the white wine and let that cook for about a minute. Then I added about 1/4 cup chicken broth and let it reduce to about half. Then I added 2-3 tablespoons of cream and some chopped green onions. I let it come back to a simmer and then I put the chicken back in for about a minute for it to coat. It was quite good, it's not really thick like a gravy but I used it as a gravy anyways on my mashed potatoes! lol "

" Oh yeah, I used about 2-3 tablespoons white wine, but you could play with the ingredients a little more depending on your taste. "
