TagDog

A couple of weeks ago, I went to the Big Apple Comic Book Convention with my husband and purchase a silly little stuffed animal called "TagDog". I love to post pics on the Internet (facebook!) and it was for a charity - basically every time the dog was tagged in a new picture 10 cents would be donated to a charity of the month.

After about a month of silliness, I realized the TagDog people were looking for a new charity! I wrote to them about IHRF and they are donating all of their funds to IHRF this month. It may not turn out to be a lot of money, but it may get the word out about IH to more people. Here's what they did with their site, if anyone is interested in checking it out:

...OK now I have to go find some sily pictures to take of my TagDog to get some $$ for IHRF!

Hope everyone is having a less painful head than me right now :) !! Have a great night. And - on the off-chance that you have a TagDog - start tagging!!

Nicole :)

" I'm not quite sure how this works. So everytime he is tagged in a new photo they donate money? That seems like a pretty cool idea. I would really like to buy one of these. I might have to ask for one for (early) Christmas though since I'm broke after all my copays for specialists!!

Start tagging photos! lol "

" It is so silly, but that's all it is - when the dog gets tagged, they donate 10 cents. (Well, they just wait until the end of the month, count up all of the tags, and donate the appropriate amount)

I am going to tag again! "

" RIver, Achley, and Betty,

Way cool!

I am not sure what we need to do yet but if you could give us a few more details to make it easy for everyone then we can get everyone to tag! It might not be a lot but everything helps and lets show the IHRF that we are here to help.

" Hey TJ,

I didn't want everyone to think I was trying to sell TagDogs or something! I was lucky enough to get a TagDog for the convention price of $5 - on the website (www.mytagdog.com) you can buy one for just under $8. Once you get a dog of your own you can just start taking pictures with the dog in it.

TagDog wants to be the most tagged thing on the Internet, so to encourage people to tag, they pick a charity to spotlight each month.

By the way, when they wrote back to me about spotlighting IHRF they said they would love to hear about other fundraising ideas - so if anyone can think of anything, contact them on their website or facebook page (TagDog Corp). "

" Hi Nicole....I am so useless with this stuff...I have to have it laid out for me step by step...so if I buy a dog, then take a picture of say, Caiti , with it, and post the photo on Facebook...then every time someone looks at it, money is donated...is that the way it works?

By the way, the website is so touching, I had tears in my eyes....please tell me how I can get this going!

" Judie,

If you buy the dog, then you take different pictures with it and everytime it is tagged, they donate money. So take pictures of it with everyone you know. The more pictures it's in, the more money it makes. It doesn't matter how many times someone looks at one particular picture. Does that make sense? "
