I'll need to find a doctor that will care to work with me, if there's a possibility of alleviating my symptoms.

Please don't worry yourselves ....I never had any horrible problems or life threatening - yet , thank goodness ! Seasprite did. So, we just need to watch it ..be proactive and get those results for ourselves and ask questions !!! I think by now I have some kind of "honorary" medical degree !!!!! lol
I'm glad you finally figured it out now I can bring this up with my NO at my next appt. So far my CO2 is still holding on at 18 but my chloride is in the normal range now. I will let you know if it works for me.

I'm glad the potassium is working for you! I'm surprised that with the amount of problems you were having your doctor didn't send you to a nephrologist. My neurologist sent me to one because of the bad incident I had about a year or so ago. Kidney doc says acidosis problems are often kidney problems. The kidneys keep that balance. My nephrologist is the one that manages my diamox and potassium dosages, etc. I have renal tubular acidosis, too. My kidney doc says that's a common with Diamox or Topamax, and it's also why I'm getting kidney stones. Lucky us.
Have they put you on an acidosis diet? Google brings up tons of food lists.
