"Acne or Psoriasis"

I haven't had a flare up of psoriasis since i was a preteen. When I had it, it was only on my right heel. Just this weekend my face broke out (under my nose & under my mouth on my chin area). The Dr. claims its acne caused my sweat & stress but i'm almost positive its psoriasis... I NEVER have acne & rarely get a zit. He gave me some prescription cream w/ peroxide in it & said to apply a small amount which i did & it burned like hell! My face is flaking, red, itchy, awful looking!! Also my whole face feels tight like its sunburned minus being wicked red all over. My cheeks esp. I have been under an immense amount of stress & depression lately so it kinda makes sense....

So I called the Dr. back today & mentioned having the psoriasis when I was little so he called in another script, we will see what he prescribes...

IDK??!!! help, medic!

" It could be the Psoriasis and it can appear and disappear.
I was under a lot of stress and had it appear on my face.
I had scrapings done and also biopsies done...the medication for your face is different from what you are given for other areas of your body.
Have you been under a lot of stress lately?
Sometimes just out of the blue it will just flare.
i don't really use much make-up but have you changed anything like soap, or maybe your make-up brand sometimes even a change in laundry soap or dish soap can be the cause.
If you had it when you were younger it might just have been dormant all this time and something has set it off.
It is so unpredictable...and frustrating.
You have to be very careful what you are using on your face.
If it isn't acne you don't want to use anything that is intended for that.
Have you seen a dermatologist? "

" Thanks for the response Lor! Yes very stressed lately & that was one of the reasons why it clicked that it may be psoriasis. I haven't changed any soaps or detergents, thats the first thing my cousin asked me about but everything is the same. Yesterday the Dr. called me in hydrocortizone which also burned =(. So i called them AGAIN today & am waiting for a call back. I'm gonna tell them i wanna see a derm, i'm sick of wasting $ on prescriptions that don't work & i want this stuff to go away already.

Seriously I think i'd rather this ANYWHERE else other than my face! haha "
