One of our members is on Raptiva and I wanted to post some information about it as the long term data (36 months and over) for use of Raptiva is now being published.
Hang in there...the details: 1) Efalizumab (Raptiva) is a T cell–targeted therapy for moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis 2) It is given as a subcutaneous injection weekly. 3) A study published in Journal of the Am Academy of Dermatology in 2006 looked at long term data on 339 pts 4) At 3 months: 41% of patients achieved at least a 75% reduction in Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) score and at month 27: 47% achieved at least a 75% reduction in PASI score. 5) The safety profile with Raptiva (efalizumab) was sustained throughout 27 months of continuous treatment with NO NEW common events over time. 6) These results suggest that Raptiva (efalizumab) maintains, and in some patients continues to improve, efficacy during long-term therapy. Would love to hear anyones experience! Dr O. Posted on 06/09/07, 04:06 pm |
