Scotgal,
I am sorry to hear about your husband. I had the same problem on hormone therapy. The only solution is to go off hormone therapy. I have advanced prostate cancer however I won't use any traditional treatment because it doesn't work anyway. According to Web MD there is no cure for advanced prostate cancer. I was driven to think outside the box. Today my PSA is 0.46, I still have my prostate and I am not on any hormone treatment. Ususally chemotherapy is not effective for prostate cancer. I have been successfull for 3 years with my approach. If you woulkd like more information please visit my web site at www.alternativeprostatecancer.com With Diet and supplements you can win! God Bless Dan

My father (who has it), was constantly going to the loo. It was the thing that triggered him to go to his doctors. From what I've heard, this is normal and although irritating (for both of you I'm sure), it's something not to worry overly about. I wish your husband and yourself, well.

Although I have not had prostate cancer, I did have an enlarged prostate that kept me urinating constantly and getting little sleep. I used Flomax for several years to control the urge to urinate. It made me feel terrible and was only partially effective. Also, it caused retrograde ejaculation which reduced the pleasurable sensation of orgasm somewhat. After many sleepless nights and constantly hunting restrooms during the day, I decided on transuretral resection (TURP)of the prostate. Urologist took out about half my prostate. This was effective for a while in reducing the urge to urinate, but it also caused retrograde ejaculation. Eventually, I got erectile dysfunction and my wife is convinced the TURP caused this. Now, I am trying to use a vacuum pump to get erections. Also, I am taking Enablex to control the urination. Bottom line, if I had to do it over again, I would have kept my prostate for purposes of erection and more pleasurable ejaculation. From what I understand, the "conventional wisdom" these days is that most men with prostate cancer will die from something else before they die from prostate cancer. I hope that is true for you and your husband.
