POST PROSTATE SURGERY

Hi,

Haven't stopped in lately, but I need some advice. My fiance' had prostate surgery in November of '07. There has been no sex life; as of last night, he said that he didn't want to take pills, didn't want to do anything clinical. He says that he has no physical sex drive.

He hasn't touched me since before surgery although I have enticed him on a few occastions. This is getting very frustrating for me and I just tick him off when I try to discuss it with him.

He needs to talk with men that have been through this. He wants to know what other men's reaction has been to medications.

I need answers as well so that I can help him. I am past the point of depressed and it does affect everything I do and my relationship with him.

Help?

" I had prostate removed 10 years ago. First year was tough. Wife was understanding and patient. Could not use viagra because my heart doctor forbade it. We used vacuum pump. Only difference between wife's thinking and mine was that I felt practice as much as possible. She felt we should wait until I was really horny. We ended up my way and it worked. We had to try new positions and lots of foreplay, including mutual oral. Eventually stopped using pump and did not need viagra. Depression was present and we fought it off. Keep working with him. More later "

" Hey GeeWiz,
I had mine done in May. I can tell you the sex drive for me has dropped considerably. I think for me it is because of the not being able to produce semon. I have tried to "stimulate myself" with movies and such but I do not feel as though I have the same reaction as before the surgery. I will not give up though as I have a desire to get my life back on track and as close to the way it was before the surgery as possible. So far I have tried Levitra without success and am now trying the VCD. I just got the VCD and it felt very unnatural. I hope to be as Ipersemesomeday. I have high hopes for success. Depression is not an option for me because that would make me 2nd guess my decision to have had the surgery to begin with. I have no regrets in that department and am sure I never will. Let me know if I can offer any advice for you. "

" my husband just had prostate surgery. He was told by his doctor he needs time to heal. a good 6 months. These months will be filled with incontinence and dripping of urine. he needs to learn how to deal with this. relations are on hold for at least 1st year. after we can talk to doc about other options should we feel the need to address ED. For now he is very considerate of me and my feelings and cuddling is always an optuin. "
