Advice:
Should I go to the Doc's

I have yet to go to the doctors and find out if I have this cancer. My symptoms are very frequent urination, I urinate approximately 20 times a day often painful and only drizzling to begin with eventually I will get a reasonable steady stream. I have no blood in the urine but experience painful ejaculation. I also have painful legs that go very weak however I put this down to a spine condition rather than anything else. I have also noticed that I have been bleeding from the rectum.

" I can only tell you my story and I hope you are motivated to see a doctor. I waited until I was 53 to have a PSA blood test only to find out I have advanced prostate cancer. Early detection is key. If its not advanced prostate cancer its curable. Your symptons defintely indicate you could have prostate cancer. You really need to see a doctor, sooner than later. You will have better results the earlier its detectable. If you don't have it , wouldn't it give you peace of mind. As far as my situation I am getting healthier each day due to alternative medicine. If you like you can check out my web site www.alternativeprostatecancer.com "

" st5ve, with all the symtoms you have, yes. go to the doctor. my husband had to get up and go to the bathroom for what seemed all nite, had difficulty going also. he was experiencing lower back pain too, which he put down to "age". he was only 49 when they found he had prostate cancer. his psa was very high and he went in for treatment right away. he is 52 now and happily healthy!
you could have something other than prostate cancer, causing your symptoms. please don't wait, call your doctor or urologist today. tell them what you have going on and get an appt soon.
good luck and good health to you,
chatnoir "

" Thank you skidan and chatnoir,
I have made an appointment to see my doctor for Friday afternoon, I am hoping that its just an infection of some kind but as you have both said I do need to find out.

" Definately go to the Doctors. I sure wished my father would have. He kept putting it off and finally when he did his psa was off the charts. He had 100% prostate cancer and it went into his bones through out his body. Prostate is slow growing, but you need to get on top of it right away. They gave my dad 2 weeks to live. He lived another 1 1/2 years and was able to get around the whole time. They have alot of things they can do for you, but Please don't wait. My dad was 55 when he passed away. I don't want to scare you..I want to encourage you that they can do alot for you IF you have it. My father in law was tested right after my dad found out he had it. My father in law was told he had prostate cancer..they got his early. The implanted seeds and he's doing VERY, VERY well.

Make your appointment today!! "

" Your symptoms could indicate possibly a condtion called prostatitis or imflamation of the prostate(not cancer). Bleeding from the rectum could be hemorrhoids or maybe colon cancer.
You asked what the PSA test is. That stands for prostate specific antigen. If your PSA is 4 or under, you are within usually safe limits. If over 4 or signifigantly over 4, you could require a biopsy of the prostate along with what is found during the digital exam. Good luck with your doctor's examinations! "

" I did see the doctor a while back and he reckons I had some sort of urinary infection, the doctor also said that I probably had some kind of infection of the rectum.

When I was in my very late teens I had an internal examination of my bladder, it was noted that my bladder was very rigid and could not hold a lot of urine so I have always had to go to the loo alot. Whilst still under anasthetic I can remember someone saying to me that I was ok but they did find a small tumour that was nothing to worry about near the bladder. I did ask my doctor about this not so long ago but there is no mention of it on my records!

I tend to pass water about every 30 to 60 mins in the morning in the afternoon may go for about 90 mins before I need to go. Sometime when I pass water it is painful but not like passing razor blades or burning, just very difficult to pass water and painful before I start going.

I think I may have to go back to the doctor and get this sorted because it is so embarrising going to the toilet all the time.

The bleeding from the anus could be a small infection that has caused irratation, the skin being so thin in that location has become damaged and split hence the pain from there. "
