My dad's diagnosis was recently confirmed & also confirmed was the fact that it has shown up outside the protstatte in a few areas. This was confirmed by CT Scan & Bone Scan.
They advised us that because of age(83) surgery is of course not an option & his prostate is too large for Brachy Therapy.
They spoke to us abt proceeding with Hormone Therapy & he's had one injection.
I'd so love to hear fr anyone that has or is going thru this, or even a family member. The dr did say that these treatments do have a good percentage of putting it in remission for however long.
Again, I'd love to hear what anyone out there maybe wants to share on this to help give me a good grasp on whats what.
Thanks so much everyone.

" Hi Kitty,
My husband, age 57, went through hormone therapy which included the pills and the injections. They both worked great. It kept his cancer under control for years. The only bad side effects he had was the hot flashes and the lack of testosterone. Other than that we just sat and watched his PSA go down.
I pray this helped some!
Cheyerl "
