Has anyone been on dostinex and gotten pregnant? My endo wants to switch me to bromocriptine when my husband and i try to get pregnant..but I had such horrible side effects with bromo. Just wondering if anyone is out there who had a successful pregnancy and a normal healthy child afterwards while being on dostinex?
Thanks! Posted on 10/19/09, 07:10 pm |

I never took dostinex. I do take bromo and I HATE it!! I will say this. The effects do get better with time. I get super bad headaches, dizziness and it makes my sinuses swell to the point that I can't breathe. I have found a trick though. I take my bromo with a Benedryl and then I'm out and so its not so bad. Of course the next day... you know.
I have conceived twice on bromo and have a three year old daughter. I miscarried the first time due to a genetic problem with the baby. You can do it! Best of luck!

I'm on Bromocriptine and my husband and I hope to conceive soon. From what I understand, Bromo is the drug of choice if you are trying to conceive. I feel very fortunate that I don't have the yucky side effects from Bromo that I've heard so much about. I have been on Bromo since 9/1. I take it at night with a small snack. I do get a little light headed every once in a while but that is about it. I did have a little nausea the day following my first dose but that was it. I hope you tolerate Bromo better this time if that is what your endo ends up switching you to.

Hi, I just found out that I am pregnant and I have been on cabergoline. My reproductive endo switched me to Cabergoline (generic of dostinex) before strating infertility treatments. I am now trying to decide if I should stay on or go off the meds while pregnant. I am getting conflicting reports from my doctors. I had a large tumor that bled when it was discovered back in January.

Thank you everyone for your replies! Really don't want to go on bromo...but if I have to I will. Daisy...my endos have said they want me off all meds while I am pregnant..they monitor you with blood work and visual field tests to make sure the tumor doesn't get too big.
thank you everyone for your encouragement and stories!

Be sure your Endo, OB/GYN and Genetic specialists are working on the same sheet of medical advice.
