Prolactinoma Support Group

I started out higher than you, 8271, but two years of four cabergoline a week has brought me down to 30. Unfortunately, it did not shrink the prolactinoma as much as hoped (still about 50mm), so I underwent radiation. Strange thing is, just like you, I had no real symptoms, and still don't except for fatigue. It was a fluke, or should I say a miracle that mine was found before it pushed too hard on my brain or optic nerve. What a strange beast this prolactinoma can be. Hang on tight because it can be quite a ride.

When my pituitary tumor was first discovered in 1978, my prolactin level was around 1500. The tumor had grown into my transverse sinuses, around my carotid and optic nerves.
Tumor had forced the pituitary out of th Sella Tursica.
Have taken only Parlodel since 1978.

About seven years ago, MRI showed regrowth of the tumor, prolactin levels are in negative range or rais to a NORMAL range.
I take breaks from Parlodel from time to time.

My prolactin level was 35.000 January, then I started Cabergaline, and it is now 21,000, the tumor has not shrunk at all so I have increased my medication to one tablet twice a week. Hope when I next go back for check and MRI scan it has had effect.
