Well, the doc has switched me to bromocriptine. She says it has less side effects. She spoke to the endo and was told that dostinex can give flu like symptoms!! I knew I wasn't crazy!! Anyway, I have to take 1/2 pill a night either orally or vaginally for 2 to 3 weeks. Yep...thats what she said...If is is taken vaginally, you won't get the side effects so severely. Anyboy else heard this???

" I think, no matter how you take Bromo, you are going to get nausea. "

" Jimena, I've heard that taking it vaginally can help reduce the side effects (i've not tried this...I had my endo switch me from bromo to dostinex). However, from a *female* perspective, I say give it a try if your side effects when taken orally are pretty bad. never hurts to try and find out on your own. "

" The studies I've looked indicate that the side effects are usually worse on the Bromocriptine, but those were done with the oral application. Regardless, everyone is different and reacts differently. Just keep working with your doctor and pay attention to your body. "

" my doctor hasn't said anything about vaginally. I will ask her when i see her later this week. However--side effects. I have found that is i eat 5-6 saltine crackers before taking bromo i reduce the "hung-over" feeling the next day. And Ice cream makes me extremely sick to my stomach. "
