5 years ago I started to take Efexor cause the doctors told me that I was bipolar. It's now 10 months without it.
In January I was pregnant, I was so happy, but after 15 weeks of pregnancy Dylan died. Since that day I've had 3 periods: April, May (after 33 days), June (after 37 days). Today it's the 53rd day without period and I'm not pregnant (5 days ago I did the test for the second time). When I took efexor my breast started to leek and I've never had a blood test for that but the doctor and I have thought that it is prolactin. I still have it after 3 years and now it has been a lot of days without period, I haven't been regular but not so much. Should I worried or wait before to go to the doctor? What can it be? Thank you very much! Posted on 09/06/09, 06:09 am |

Have you ever had your prolactin levels checked? First step I would do is to insist to have those prolactin levels checked and your sex hormones - progesterone, estrogen, etc....
One of my complaints prior to an official diagnosis was my cycles were going 24-55 days. It was driving me crazy. Even after my prolactin levels were normal from Cabergoline my cycles still varied and they found my progesterone was below normal the second half of my cycle. I've been doing progesterone on days 15-28. It's been pretty rough with progesterone; however, my cycles since taking that have been right on schedule. I wouldn't worry prior to going to the DR. I would just inisist on knowing your hormone levels and making sure they are balanced!!!

Hey Ireland,
You should definitely have your prolactin level checked. My 2 main symptoms were breast leakage (I wasn't pregnant) and missed periods for over a year... Just know, that if you do go and they confirm that your prolactin is high, there are treatments out there that will help you... All the best.

Thank you!!! I did a blood test last week and everything is great! I don't know why I have this problem at my breast. Maybe I still have efexor in my blood, I really don't know. The important is that my hormones are good.
Thank you again!!! Marta
