I was told in March that my prolactin levels were: 3370 and I had this thing in my head, my gp said it wouldn't kill me on monday but like I still feel, he didn't mention the rest of the week! I have had repeat blood tests and an MRI done and I have heard nothing from the endocrine consultant or my gp, I'm obviously very concerned about whats going on and I'm finding it hard to focus on much right now, can anyone tell me how bad this is likely to be when they eventually contact me? My husband seems to think I've had it a long time as my hormones are very affected by it - or at least that's what we think, I also suffer with terrible headaches that will not shift after taking painkillers - any advice????

" It does sound like you have had this for a long time due to your levels for a women. A prolactinoma tumor is slow growing so it will not change much during this time before you start medication. Your body is making too much prolactine and it is clotting. So the tumor is putting off prolactine and so is your body. That is what the high levels are from.
There is a good chance the tumor could be causing you headaches.
Once you see the doctor they should start you on medication and get some control back .
We can all tell you story about doctor taking a long time to get things going with our Prolactinomas. It just seems to be standard. "
