I am trying to find me another doctor due to my old one being a pediatric metabolic specialist and I am no longer allowed to see a ped. What is the name of the specialty your doctor works in? I can't find a doctor that works as a metabolic specialist so I thought I might be looking in the wrong woods.

" Metabolic docs are few and far between here. We only have one in the whole metro Phx area and although he's a pediatric geneticist, he sees both me (age 50) and my adult son (age 26). I also see a neurologist who specializes in neuromuscular med, a chiro for physiotherapy, and 2 orthopedists.

Are you looking for a new doc to further treatment, for more diagnostic work or to get a second opinion or ?

Is it possible the pediatrician you've been seeing could give you a referral to a metabolic specialist who accepts adult patients?

" I see neurologist that specializes in neuromuscular disorders he also specializes in metabolic disorders. One idea you could look for is a neuromuscular clinic alot of hospitals around the world have them. My doc is at Temple university hospital in Phila,PA. Some as Kim has said in the past are sponsered by the MDA you could check there web sight and see if they have any oversees. Good luck!
