I am addicted to oxycotin & do a couple 80's a day. I quit cold turkey two days ago, but my fear is tomorrow when I get money I'm going to fall back into my old ways and give in. I have horrible depression and feel like my lifes hopeless (even though i know so many people have it worse than me). I want to just make everything go away. Any suggestions on how to cope?

" hunni you need to get yourself into a treatment center as soon as possible. Your addiction is quite severe in my opinion!

You need to either call your doctor or your local hospital and they will refer you. Once you get into treatment, you will get medicine to detox you and help so you won't suffer the pains of withdrawals.

I use to do 50 mils twice a day and that was pretty bad.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing and in the meantime we will pray for your recovery...TC and God Bless! "

" Hi Elizabeth,

After 2 days going cold-turkey--have you started to have withdrawal symptoms? What's your reason for quitting?

I totally agree with Bob & Jamie... get yourself into a place that you won't have access to the Oxys tomorrow. The best place would be under the care of a doctor!

hang in there! "

" I guess taking a week or many days as we can from taking our oxys once a month is beneficial and helpful in lowers dependency, cravings, and tolerence..

basically only taking pain meds when we are in pain or in serious withdrawls is what Ive been doing..

When I get my bad headache, or crazy legs, I take like 10mg.
so far today I had only taking 5mg, and 20mg yesterday at lke 4pm did great till today, but about an hou rago my entire abdominal region cramped up, with spasm/sharp pain.
And well, I had to take my meds...

But now Im gonna try again to not take any till tommarow, good news is, Im not getting any euphoria, so Im not really craving anymore, I think its been days and days since Ive experienced memorable euphoria... "

" I just quit snorting 80 mg a day of oxy myself. Suboxone is the key. I take very little, less than the recommended dose and I don't feel any withdrawls. I didn't take it until I felt really bad withdrawls for at least an hour. if you take this and try to get high later you can't. This is still a narcotic but it's not as strong. You take it under your tongue. You'll feel withdrawl free for about 12 hours. Well, this is at least my results so far. I still want to snort oxy to get that high I love so much but then I remember the amount of money I'm saving besides saving my own life. I got my suboxone from my drug dealer. Maybe a doctor or dealer can get it for you. It's at least worth a try. "

" my roommate just got home with some for green boys and all I want to do is snort them. I'm trying really hard not to. I just took some suboxone so if I wanted to get high I can't. I hope this works for you. I looked up the results of taking this to help and it has a 96% success rate. "

" I, too, was forced to go cold turkey when my narcotics caused me to have a heart attack. The hallucinations, sleeplessness, and diarrhea drove me crazy, but I got off the Oxycodone and Morphine. I would suggest you go to every meeting possible, even AA at this point. The support is vital. Had I not been in the hospital for 18 days I would have been there and in treatment.

Go, go.
