What a great website! I will be checking in. My son was born at 26 weeks in 2005. 1 lbs 12 oz, and spent 3.5 months in the hospital. Prayers for you and your family as she continues to grow strong and healthy!

But it sounds like she will be home soon. Ah and what a wonderful day that will be. Please keep us posted! Take care.

hey i read your blog - your story seems just like mine - except i had triplets. They too wanted me to let them go, say they don't make it - i delivered mine at 23 weeks as well
1 lb 5 oz, 1 lb 2 oz and 1 lb , my smallest one passed after 13 days - my biggest one had the NEC surgery like yours - she had PDA surgery and 7 eye surgery's - she has stage 5 ROP - she has had the IVH brain bleeds but they have resolved - my other one is doin well she has the chronic lung disease and she came home 1st after 5 months - the other one came home next at 6 months. They are both home doin well. Email me anytime blazey07@yahoo.com

Your little girl is beautiful and she's a fighter! It's amazing how small babies can be born nowadays. I was born 3 months early weighing 1 1/2 pounds and only 8 inches long back in 1990. I pretty much had a very low survival rate back then. It's amazing how much that survival rate for premature infants has risen since then.

SORRY IF ANYONE WAS WORRYING. MELANI IS FINE. SHE HAD HER SURGERY ON 6.12.09. I CHANGED HER BLOG SITE URL. I TOOK OFF THE "08" ON THE END BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE FORGETTING THAT AND GETTING ALL CONFUSED. SO THE NEW LINK IS WITHOUT 08 ON THE END.

I just visited your blog. She is absolutely beautiful and definately a true NICU Warrior. I have infinite connection to all preemies, but 23 weekers pull at my heartstrings as my daugter to was born at 23 weeks. I pray for nothing but good progress for your little girl while in the NICU and post NICU too! Enjoy her!
