ok, what are they doing exatly? March of Dimes that is... I've seen there ads... are they just raising money for research?

The March of Dimes is the organization that created the vaccine for polio. Yes they do fundraise for research, and being theparent of a preemie born at 23w1d, I thank god for them. They developed a drug called surfacten, (its the lubricant that allows are lungs to expand upon inhale and deflate upon exhale so to speak). At 23 weeks gestation a baby does not make that on its on. But for this drug, my daughter would not have survived as her lungs would have been too stiff for the ventilator to breath for her.
