Stopping PIO

So last week my RE lowered me from 1cc to 1/2cc progesterone. My levels went from 40 to 20 over the course of the week. He says that is fine and I should now stop the PIO totally because the placenta should be taking over production.

Does anyone know their levels when they stopped PIO?

I am 8.5 weeks right now and have officially been "discharged" from my RE so I will have less monitoring (more room for worrying).

Thanks ladies!

" Im not sure about PIO but I did the progesterone suppositories and I was told to stop at 12wks. Im wondering if they can just give you the suppositories so you feel better until you get into more of a "safe" zone? "

" My levels were over 40... they took me off and then checked 2 days later, since it stayed the same I was able to stop PIO. I was also 8.5 weeks when I was done with those darn shots. "

" I'm also 8 1/2 weeks today and I was told by my Re to stop PIO cold turkey. They have not been checking my levels since my first and second beta on October 5 and 7, but I assume they know what they are talking about. I was told that because I'm having twins, my body is producing enough already.
Don't worry, Be happy!! "

" I don't know my levels either but was official given the green light to wean off the PIO shots today (9w1d) following my u/s. She advised me to go from 1cc to .5cc for the next 4-5 days. She stated there was no worry about the PIO shots now due to seeing the placenta.

I was also released from my RE today. I'm kinda sad.... but excited to go see my OB. "

" Thanks everyone! I am assuming my RE knows what he is talking about, but it was scary just the same to see the big drop in numbers (with my first pregnancy/miscarriage, my progesterone was very low and I guess that has me sensitive).

I am going to a new OB today so I will ask her what she thinks and then try to have a little more faith in my medical advice (it has gotten me this far!).

Well wishes to all! "

" I am ending my pio shots and suppositories on Monday at 12weeks. I was told my body will take over. They do not even want me to take blood. I am really nervous but he keeps saying everything will be ok. I guess all we can do is trust them. The best of luck to you. "
