Kind of freaked out, need reassurance!

Ok, first let me start by saying I am EXTREMELY embarrassed to be posting this, it is very much TMI, but I need some help/reassurance.

I was sitting in my classroom after school all alone writing sub plans for tomorrow as I will be out of the classroom in meetings all day and I felt the need to toot. I slightly pushed but nothing happened so I just ignored it and kept working. All of a sudden something felt wrong so I stood up and headed to the bathroom. As I was walking I knew something was wrong. I got to the bathroom and realized I had pooped in my pants some. Sorry for writing this, it is so embarrassing.

My question is, has anyone else ever had this happen? Is it normal? I used to have very hard stools before pregnancy. Now some are hard and others are soft/runny. I feel perfectly fine. I can still feel the baby move like normal. This just freaked me completely out and I am so embarrassed. Thanks to anyone who can help with this!

Oh...I guess I should add I am 23 weeks pg.

" Dont be embarrassed. I have found that pregnancy makes your body do some weird and gross things. Our digestive tracks are definitely different. Our bodies have been taken over and we are just there for the ride :). "

" I keep reading that you are supposed to be constipated with all the prenatal vitamins and all, but I find that the DHA (fish oil) tends to soften stools, and I haven't had the constipation problem. Don't be embarrassed - out bodies have been totally hijacked and we are not ourselves! "

" Our bodies are totally out of our control right now. There are times I am afraid to toot because I feel like this might happen. You are not alone! We are all lucky we have this board to air out these concerns!

It is embarrassing, I mean honestly. I had to go to the bathroom the other day at the end of my son's soccer game and the coach kept talking and talking. Finally I rushed off to the bathroom but it hurt to walk I had to go so bad. I made it to the stall and wet my pants enough to see it on the seat of my pants. This is at a busy public park! I had to walk back to my son to get my sweatshirt to tie around and go home to wash my pants before we could go anywhere else. This was an hour after making a trip to the bathroom and i am only 18wks! There was nothing I could have done about it, but seriously, who has a mom who pees her pants! LOL

I used to know what was going on with my bowels but not now. It can be one way in the morning and the opposite in the afternoon. It is normal. I was asking my docotor about the no deli meat thing and she explained that our whole system changes during pregnancy and we process things different and can be more sensitive to this or that. We just aren't the same. WE ARE PREGNANT!

I think we need to all keep a change of clothes handy at all times.... some women leak breastmilk before baby comes and most of us experience the sneeze & pee phenomenon! "
