Well my husband and I have been together for going on 17 years and married for over 11. We tried for all 11 years with no success. I come from a family that has no problem getting pregnant and the dr.’s kept telling me that they had no idea why I was not getting pregnant. We had all the normal tests and still no answers. I started taking clomide and still could not get pregnant. Shortly after that I lost my Health insurance. So another 3 almost 4 years went by. Then all the planets aligned and we found a house we both could agree on and I found a new job with excellent health insurance. It turns out that NY has mandatory IF coverage. I lived in NY but my insurance was through Maine so I never had any IF coverage. Then we moved to PA and I had Ins. through NY so we started the IF journey again. We went in and my dr. said he would be aggressive and we would do IUI and clomid and after two cycles it worked. I am 29 almost 30 weeks pregnant with triplets!!! After all that time we got our miracle!! I hope my story helps and I want to wish you good luck and a ton of baby dust

My husband and I have been married for 12 years. We were married very young and started ttc 4 around 4 years ago when we finally felt "ready" for children. I had been on depo provera for three years and my cycle never came back normally after stopping, then quit altogether. I had all the ususal tests, we tried clomid four times, and then I had a laparoscopy to check for endometriosis. I was eventually diagnosed with secondary hypothalamic amenhorrea, so I needed injectables to even have a normal cycle. My reproductive system worked, it was just not being told to by my brain. After my diagnosis we did two BFN IUI's, one IVF that was converted to IUI because of a dominant follicle that developed too quickly, which resulted in a very short lived BFP, the second beta dropped. Our first complete IVF cycle resulted in a healthy pregnancy with one baby boy, and I am now 27w6d along. I wish you the best of luck on your journey toward motherhood!

Although I was never technically diagnosed with infertility problems, I was told by my doctor 7 years ago that because of the extent of my endometriosis, I'd have problems conceiving and I should try to have children sooner rather than later. This I didn't agree with....I had just met my boyfriend, who is now my husband. We were in no place to be parents so I gave up my dream of having children. When we got married in 2007, we tried right away and got pregnant after only 4 cycles. Yay!! Unfortunately, that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage at 11.5 weeks. I've read that endo can cause infertility, but also miscarriages too. We tried a few months later, got pregnant right away, and I now have a beautiful 3 1/2 month old daughter!! I know my story isn't as extensive as some, but it just goes to prove that sometimes doctors don't always have the right answers.

My DH and I had been TTC for 3-1/2 years. We knew we'd have difficulty because he is disabled from a spinal cord injury. In Dec. 2006 we met with our first RE and recommended us going straight to IVF to TTC. By all accounts I was fine. I had a fibroid but he said it wasn't in the way of anything. My DH's sperm wasn't the best quality but with every IVF we were able to create embryos. We did 3 IVF's along with 2 FET's in between coming up with a BFN everytime. After our 3rd IVF our RE recommended we use a sperm donor. We decided to do a last FET to use those embryos and buy us time to talk and figure that out. In December 2008 was that last FET which gave us the usual BFN. We decided to go ahead with a donor but in the meantime, our insurance was terminating it's contract with our RE so we were forced to choose a new RE. When we met with our new RE, he looked at our history and said he agreed with the donor suggestion BUT when he looked at my fibroid, he said he wasn't convinced it wasn't in the way of everything. He tried to remove it in April of this year but couldn't get at it without me having actual surgery so in June of this year I had a c-section like surgery to get the fibroid finally removed. Then we had a break for about 3 months while I healed. In September we were told we could go ahead again with our last IVF (insurance covered 4 tries) and we decided to do a 50/50 split of my eggs with my DH and the donor's sperm. We ended up with 7 embryos...3 from my DH and 4 from the donor. We decided to freeze what we could from the donor to give us a "last shot" and give my DH's a last try. On Oct. 1st we transferred all 3 of my DH and my embryos...on Oct. 13 we got our BFP...on Oct. 23 we found out we're having twins and I am now at 7 weeks, due around June 23rd. By all accounts everything is going fine with both babies. The moral of the story? Don't be afraid to get a 2nd opinion! We were sort of forced to because of insurance but looking back I wonder if removing the fibroid this summer that our previous RE did nothing about, was the trick. I hope this helped someone! Good luck to all and lots of baby dust to everyone!

I have mild PCOS and Type I Diabetes. Never would have gotten pregnant had I not gone to my fertility specialist. I got pregnant on 150 mg of Clomid, 1 trigger shot of Novarel, and 1 progesterone suppository. I was having ultrasounds and bloodwork done every month. . .best of luck to you!

My DH and I tried for almost 4 years. I have endometriosis and a uterine septum; my DH has no isses. I had a m/c at 6 weeks prior to starting any type of treatments. We used clomid - no success, then moved on to 12 cycles of injectibles. After 12 "perfect" cycles but still no pregnancy, the RE told us that it was time to move onto IVF. My DH and I weren't quite ready to go down that road - our insurance does not cover any infertility whatsoever. We decided to take a break from treatments for a while so that I could focus on my schooling - I am in a 3 year nursing program. 3 weeks before the fall semester began, I found out that I was pregnant - no doctor/meds/etc! I am currently a little over 16 weeks and so far, so good!
Good luck to you...my doctor said that given how well I responded to every cycle, yet still had no pregnancy, that I was one of his most challenging cases, and that it just goes to show that doctors definitely do not have all the answers!

We were ttc for more than 3 years. First unexplained, although some slight male factors. We did three IUI, all BFN. We later moved on to IVF. That's when they told us I had very low quality embryos. We did 3 IVFs, the third was the charm with a BFP (pregnancy started with twins, we lost one, but I'm now 23 weeks with a healthy baby). After our second IVF we changed clinics and got healthy, that's when we got our BFP. Something worked!
Best of luck to you!

We had been TTC for almost 2rys. DH had very low sperm count, but was misdiagnosed. So I endured a year of fertility tests & treatments out the wazoo! After 8 rounds of clomid and an IUI, we finally discovered DHs issue. He was referred to a urologists, and was told his FSH levels were very high, prob a genetic issue that could not be fixed. We were told our only hope was IVF or doner sperm. So back to the fertility Dr we went to schedule our IVF for 2 months later. Except we never made it b/c the same week of the IVF consult we conceived naturally. You can imagine my shock and relief. We now have a beautiful 13month old son who is the love of my life. And we are 24 wks PG again with a little girl. Oh and she was also conceived naturally....on the first try! I never get tired of telling my story. Thanks for asking, and I hope this helps you. As u can read here, the DRs don't have all the answers. There are a lot of if's, maybe's probably's. Your time will come...good luck

I was diagnosed with PCOS and I was devastated to have my dr say that I would need help conceiving. I never thought I would have issues b/c my mom had 6 children. I started Clomid and tried for a year but never ovulated. I was so frustrated. We then had to move to another RE for the injectables. She felt that we should do injectables with IUI to give us a higher chance. My DH has no issues. We were only given 3 tries before our RE recommends IVF. I was so stressed b/c my insurance does not cover IVF. The first three cycles with injectables (Repronex for the first two and Menopur for the 3rd) were not that great. I would only have one egg that would be maybe mature by the time we had the IUI. I was completely shocked when we had a BFP after cycle #3. I almost thru the test away b/c I figured it was negative. The baby was measuring about a week behind what it should have been and my RE suspected that I actually got pg a week after the IUI. Somehow I released an egg. Sadly just before 10wks we m/c. We decided to move forward as soon as possible with another cycle. Fortunately if you get pg then you are given 3 more tries. I responded like crazy on my 4th cycle. I had 3 mature eggs on the right and 3 iffy's on the left. And DH's sperm was the best ever. I knew instantly that I was pg again. We went in for the u/s at 5w6d and there were for sure two babies with hb's and possibly a third. The next week the third sac was reabsorbed but we had two growing babies! We are now 15w4d pg with twins and completely over the moon!!! Dont ever give up. We shed a lot of tears in the four years that we struggled with IF. Praying that our babies continue to grow and be healthy!

I have so been where you are!
We "tried" so many years. I finally broke down and went to a RE. I had a polyp blocking my cervix, and ovulated inconsistently. We tried Clomid and amazingly got pregnant on cycle 2 -- after finding that DH had male factor. Sadly we lost that one early. After 6 cycles of Clomid, 6 cycles of injectables (some with IUI some not) and 2 tires at IVF we are finally 10 weeks pregnant. I hear my baby's heart beat for the first time today and it was amazing! It can be a long exhausting road, and there are many miracles and disappointments along the way, but if you have faith you can achieve your dreams. Wishing that it happens for you very soon!
