When did you show/feel the baby?

Hi there,

for those first timers pregnant with singletons, when did you start to show and feel the baby moving? I am 14.5 weeks and am feeling so impatient now! I think it's made worse by the fact that I am feeling better, which is fantastic on the one hand, but on the other hand I have no way to know that this baby is doing fine. Atleast when I felt sick and exhausted I knew everything was probably fine!

Thanks,
Triona

" I am 15.5 weeks - I haven't felt anything yet, but I've been showing for about 2-3 weeks now. It's funny, in the morning I just look like I've put on a few pounds, but by the end of the day, I definitely look pregnant! "

" I didn't start showing obviously until around 22 weeks or so, but I'm also a bit heavier. It was apparent to me, DH, and my mom around 14 weeks though....just took a bit longer for everyone else to recognize that I was pregnant and not just fat LOL.

I started feeling movement at 17w5d....on my birthday!! I thought I felt a few flutters here and there a few days before that, but I wasn't positive. I was 100% sure when I felt what I think was her turning around....so cool :) After that, I felt movement every single day until I gave birth.

Glad to hear your starting off your second trimester by feeling better!! I envy you girls who got relief from the MS....I had it up until I had my daughter!! Thank God for Zofran :) "

" With my first I felt him move at 18wks and was definitely showing at four months, not huge but a for sure baby bump.
With my second I was much heavier and didn't feel movement until 20 weeks and didn't need maternity clothes until 25 weeks.
I am 17 weeks now and I don't show (I am very overweight but still wearing my jeans) and haven't felt movement yet. And because I have had two losses I worry a lot... but I think we should feel okay.

I agree with you.... it was much easier when I was feeling nausea/tired because I knew I was pregnant, now I have to rely on my sore boobs to remind me! LOL "

" I felt the baby starting to move around 16 weeks. I was on the early side and was suprised since I'm not little by any means. I just really know my body and noticed those lil flutters right away, it felt like twitching to me. I started showing around the same time. Hang in there mama, you will be feeling that baby soon enough!! "

" I know how you feel about feeling better. I was really sick the first 12 weeks and when I started feeling better I was so relieved, yet it scared me to death causethe sickness kinda let me know she was doing ok. I started showing very quickly! I had to start wearing some maternity clothes at 12 weeks. As for feeling the baby move I started feeling the flutters around 12-13 weeks. It wasn't all the time and mainly at night when I was laying in bed. I am now 17 weeks and I haven't felt any kicks yet, but can still feel the flutters. I have been on the TTC road for so long that I am really in tune with my body. "

" I probably started showing around 20 weeks. As for the kicks, little after 20 weeks, probably more near the 21-22 weeks.

Best of luck and congrats! "

" Thanks for all your replies. Me and DH are noticing a small bump now (16.5 weeks) - I thought I was just really bloated but then my sister pointed out that if it's bloat then you can suck it in whereas if it's baby you'll feel like you're sucking in but the belly won't go anywhere! lol - thoroughly entertained me!
Hopefully I'll feel it soon. I have felt faint flutters when medtitating or lying in bed at night but don't know if I'm just imagining it because I want to feel the baby or whether it's real...a few more weeks....

It's starting to feel like this is really happening now :0) "
