" I have used Lovenox b4. I was in a really bad car wreck back in 05 and I had to have a partial hip replacement, along with knee surgery... so I couldn't walk for months. My doctor was afraid I would get a blood clot so I started on the blood thinners. I got pregnant in April of 07 ( which ended in a miscarriage) and was tested for a blood clotting disorder called MTHFR, it turned out that I have it, along with my sister and my mom, so they put me on 40 mg of Lovenox. I think that if I would have gotten my results a lil sooner and gotten on the shots I might not have lost my baby. Now that I'm not pregnant I take 2 folic acid tablets and 1 baby asprin a day. The MTHFR keeps my body from absorbing folic acid like it should, and the asprin helps to keep my blood thin. I hope u have the best of luck with the shots... they didn't really bother me at all, and that's saying alot... I'm not into shots at all!! God Luck & God Bless! "

" I am about 5weeks pregnant now, my doctor started me on Lovenox as soon as i found out i was pregnant.
does anyone have side-effects? Besides the bruising, I have nausua...initially i thought it was nausea from the pregnancy, but I only have the sickness at night, following the injection...is this a concern?
I've had 4 miscarriages for unexplained reasons. "

" I have th MTHFR mutation too...i've been on Folgard with this last pregnancy and a few weeks prior to the pregnancy. I can't believe that this little pill is actually going to prevent the miscarriage. hard to imagine a healthy pregnancy...

" I take Lovenox daily along with a baby aspirin. It's really not that bad once you get used to it. I do bruise sometimes, but I've heard if you put ice on the site before the needle it can lessen the bruising. Message me anytime if you have any questions. Good luck! "

" I took Lovenox with this pregnancy once I got the positive HPT. I've been on it the entire time due to a prothrombin gene mutation. I also take a baby aspirin daily. Now my doctor switched me to Heparin at 35 weeks and I'm still on the Heparin at 38 weeks. The only thing with being on a blood thinner is that my doctor is planning on inducing me as he wants to control the dosage as I go into labor. I never noticed any side effects except for bruising and pain at the injection site. The Heparin seemed to thin my blood even more so I noticed that I bled a lot after each shot at first but I think my body has gotten used to it and I no longer notice that side effect. The only bad thing about being on a blood thinner ( not to scare you) is that I run a risk of not being able to get an epidural if my platelets run too low. That I'm not to thrilled about!! "

" I was on Lovenox the entire time I was trying to get pregnant (with my first child it was 2 1/2 years), and with this pregnancy it was just 1 cycle. But like snckers said, they will put me on heparin towards the end of the pregnancy. Do you d your shot once a day or twice? I do it twice a day. But if you have any questions, just let me know! "

" I am on Lovenox right now. I have antithrobin III deficiency. Twice a day. I get a rash and itching so they will probably switch me to something else... "

" I have the blood disorder MTHRF and it's supposedly a mild case. Enough where i was put on the lovenox shot (once a day) since transfer day. My doctor is talking about leaving me on it through the first trimester (although i really wish i could stay on it the entire length of my pregnancy) in addition to folic acid and a very strong prenatal vitamin. The only "side effect" that i notice is the bruising at the injection site and some discomfort b/c of the bruising. I ice prior to giving myself the shot so it's not painful. Is there anyone out there who was only on Lovenox for the first trimester and had a healthy baby to term? "

" Due to MTHFR and another clotting disorder that was discovered after four consecutive losses I take Lovenox twice a day. I started the injections post ovulation as 3 of four losses occurred very early in the pregnancy. I am now 23 weeks and other than brusing and pain at the injection site I've had no other complications from it. I also take Metanx a special folic acid supplement and baby aspirin. Check with your doctor about calcium supplements my dr recommends them for lovenox users as it can depletes calcium from your bones. I take 1200mg a day. My dr is recommending that I stay on the entire pregnancy and will stop me a few days before my scheduled c-section. Good Luck!!! "
