Because Im high risk I am having more ultrasounds then the norm. I have had 2 so far and Im am 31 weeks. But I have one scheduled for the 12th. On the last ultrasound they showed that her kidneys were larger then they should be and that the umbilical cord was dialated. Im worried about wether or not the problems have fixed themselves or if Im going to be facing more problems. If they find that her kidneys are still large I worry about what they will do about it. I am not ready to have a baby yet. I want my hubby home befor she comes. I dont want to face any more problems a lone... please just reasure me that everything will be ok and that Im worring about nothing...

They will look after you and your baby.
Ask them whether these things are still within normal measurements as sometimes doctors don't seem to realise how we hang on every word about the health of our babies! They should also be able to tell you what the prognosis is and reassure you. Fear of the unknown is worse. Good luck with the ultrasound.

AbiW is right. Ask them to let you know if they're just being cautious and what their expectations are and what the next steps will be. Being informed is better than being scared. I'm 31 weeks too. They won't let your baby out unless it's in the baby's best interest to do so. I hope it went ok. please let us know!

Well there are so many things that can scare you while being pregnant. I have had my scare since 26 weeks when I was put on strict bedrest. I spent so much time worrying about everything and losing sleep thinking my baby was coming at any time. I too had to go for ultrasounds on a very regular basis. Every two weeks to be exact. I have gone for 6 of them so far. Now I am at 35 weeks and so thankful that it has all worked out for the best. I go for my last ultrasound tomorrow. I have been given steroids for babies lungs as well a couple weeks ago. Just keep in mind that you are 31 weeks which is great. And know that the care out their for our little ones if so great that your baby will be fine. Even with minor problems during pregnancy, your baby will end up being healthy. Stay positive :)

I to have had a high risk pregnancy, I am 25 weeks and I go for my 10th ultrasound on dec. 1st! I know how you feel, as I get anxious before mine too. but try not to worry until they tell you to, you dont want to stress the baby. If there were cause for a big concern they would be doing more ultrasounds. Good luck

very true.... I go on thursday and it couldnt be soon enough. I just hope her kidneys are straightened out and the umbilical cord is ok as well. I had one baby that had a lack of blood/oxygen/nutrients befor birth and I nearly lost him. It was for a different reason. At least I think so... I didnt have any extra ultrasounds with him so I dunno if his umbilical cord did the same thing befor it had problems but he basically bled out and was near still born (hours away) and the docs nearly sent me home that day and if they did he would have been. I had many many emotional and developmental and social issues to face. I just dnt think Im strong enough to go through that all over again. So its sooo important to me that this baby be getting everything sh needs.... soooo please keep me in your prayers
