Ok so I know I need a good lecture here lol...

I tested negative at 20ish weeks for gestational diabetes. I had to take anoughter test again at around 28 weeks that I failed. SO now I have to go for the 3 hour test. I have een dragging my feet about going to the blood draw place to do this. I had diabeties with my last pregnancy and I felt it... I just dont feel it this time. I really dont want to go for 3 hours and sit in that darn place. To make it worse they want me to schedule it and they only schedule in the early am since you have to be fasting. Thing they dont get is I can barely fall asleep befor 4 am so come 7 am I am soooo not ready to wake much less eat. For me to et up at noon or 1 in the afternoon get dressed and go would make so much more sence but they wont schedule it that late because the 'think' I will eat.... they flat out told me that... it has nothing to do with the cut off time for them closing and drawing blood and stuff.... very annoying

" The three hour test completely sucks. It is not fun and completely inconvienent. But, I think that it is really important (particuarly in your case). Uncontrolled diabetes impairs wound healing and increases infection rates. Given the problems that you are having with oral infections and possibly needing oral surgery, it is really important that you know if you have gestational dm. Plus as you know gestational dm, can have some very negative effects on both mother and baby. So, please go get checked. (Ok there is that lecture you said you needed. LOL).

Is there another lab in your area that would do the test at a later time in the day? Maybe you could find one that suits your schedule a little better. I hope you do. "
