So...when I had my 20 week scan back in August and it was done at a different dr. office because my dr. office does not have the special high tech ultrasound and likes to send their patients off to get these type of ultrasounds done there...anyways...at the 20 week scan baby was measuring at 22 weeks...ok..so dr. didnt want to change the due date...so today i have another ultrasound to get measurements and check because of my thyroid condition...well baby still measures two weeks ahead...I'm 33 weeks, but measuring 35...and they said that she's measuring at 6lbs already and all of her body parts are measuring the same too. I go back to my regular OB on wednesday....and hopefully we can do something about this. I've tryed to do research on the internet, but i cant find anyone who has had something like this happen. so what do y'all think? Oh and both ultrasounds are consistant with my LMP...not the due date that my OB came up with...which she got from the 8 week ultrasound.

" well if both ultra sounds are in line with your LMP then I would say that it is probally more accurate then the 8 week scan. If they want to induce or due a c section prior to the date they decided on based off the 8 week scan I would ask for an amnio to see if the lungs are ready "

" go into labor 2 wks early then tell the doc "told you so". one of the reasons they do a 20 wk u/s is to double check a due date and size of baby. "

" Well, I can understand why you are asking us all what we think!
I like what kandj said! Told your so would be such a funny statement in the delivery room! :)

My doc did u/s at 5,7,9, and 11wks. At 7 & 9 my measurements were putting me a week behind but the doctor still sticks with the due date based on my LMP because she said every pregnancy is give or take a few days because we don't know when fertilization actually took place. I base my dates on conception because there was only one day possible. lol
At 16wks the specialist measured the arm bone, leg bone, and skull and said the measurements are consistant with my due date. That is a lot more information to base the due date on.

In my opinion, you should base your due date on your LMP and the later u/s since they match up. It is more accurate when they are measuring the fully formed baby than when they are doing the crown to rump measurement in the first trimester. The weight can be off though, so don't think you will have a huge baby if you carry too long.

Maybe this is why everything always says pregnancy is 40wks plus or minus two weeks... to leave room for doctor error! Just have your bags packed and be ready to go by week 38 just in case! "

" I AM FOR SURE THE DAY MY LAST PERIOD WAS AND THE DAY I WAS OVULATING BECAUSE WE WERE TRYING AND USING AN OVULATION KIT SO MY DOCTOR GOT THE DUE DATE FROM THAT INFO AND EVERYTIME I HAVE HAD AN ULTRASOUND MY BABY IS MEASURING ABOUT 1.5 WEEKS AHEAD SO MAYBE YOUR BABY IS JUST BIGGER THAN NORMAL. NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. "

" I have had 3 ultrasounds because I am a high risk pregnancy and the firsdt scan I had at 8 weeks said I was due on May 7th, the second scan said May 2nd and now the third one is saying April 30th. I can see myself heading in the same direction as you and soon be 2 weeks further ahead. However, the doctor explained to me that because I am diabetic that the babies tend to grow faster and be bigger. The ultrasounds measure the babies scale the same for every woman and lets face it we all aren't the same. So I am not stressing over it.
Have you been tested for gestational diabetes? "
