Coming home outfit

So, we've settled on a name (finally!!); I had to pull the "I am going to make an executive decision if you keep putting this away any further" card; and that's was that… baby's named! - tick that off the list.

Now, I have been looking for a baby's coming home outfit; and call me snobby, but I am thinking that this outfit is the one that I will use to take the pictures for the baby announcement cards (which I have also thought I could make some nudies of the baby and it would totally cute also). In any case, since I have a feeling this baby is going to be white as ghost (like daddy); I have been looking for dark blue and/or dark brown (chocolate) outfits, and it has proven almost impossible, unless you want to drop $75 for a little jacket (which I have also been tempted but sort of goes against my principles!).

Does this annoy you? That most outfits are either baby blue or baby pink? There arent many trendy, cool colors for babies??

I am SO not your baby blue/pink kind of person and it's getting on my nerves lately (OK, OK… I have been grouchy lately for so many reasons, this is just one more!)

Anyhoo... If you have a good website or store, or have seen little dark blue outfits, please let me know!!

" They can be pricey, but Land of Nod had some really cute clothes. I saw a couple of outfits that weren't too bad in terms of price and they do have more of the colors you're looking for. "

" Gymboree is having a really good sell. I got some stuff for my sister yesterday, her little boy is due in 4 weeks. I got a dark green sweater jacket matching long sleeve onsie, pants, socks the matching blanket and bib for around $25. I also got a lot of stuff for my little girl due in Feb. and spent right at $50. "

" The Childrens Place is really nice but Im not sure if they have it in the states. I am like you though, I dress my son like a little man, brand-name jeans, skate shirts and hoodies, he even has a RocaWear jacket. Im really into graphic tees. I was even able to find him a pin-striped dress shirt! But youre right, the majority of stuff is very cutesy. "

" So, I found the outfit at Macy's!!

It's weird though, I wanted him to still look like a baby but wanted the dark colors!!

I did go to Carter's, Old Navy, GAP… and found dark colored stuff but they looked kind of grown up (which I think will look totally adorable when he's a little bigger and can actually show his manly clothes!! LOL).

The outfit that I got is a dark brown little jacket (cross buttoned or whatever is called that diagonal buttoned thingie) and dark brown footy pants, then it has a striped (white, brown, dark blue, light blue) onesie and hat that match. I was very-very happy with it, because he will still look like a newborn, BUT will have his manly colors…:)

Thanks for all the advice girls, I will make a list of places for babies, so I don’t go through all this dilemma again when I need something cool for my little man!! "
