Still not dilating

Only a fingertip dilated, I'm 39 weeks and 3 days, and absolutely in agony. Every part of my body is in screaming pain, my knees swelled up, I'm constantly nauseous, have diarrhea, and just want this baby to come. I don't know what to do! I'm due on Sunday, and I don't know how long I can put up with this. I'm not inducible until I dilated more, and I really would hate to have a C-section. I'd hate that more than anything. I don't know. I've been walking till I cry, tried sex, pineapple, spicy food... and still nothing. Still having contractions 10 mins apart and nothing. I just been crying all day. It hurts so bad.

" I feel your pain!
Up until I was 38 weeks I had no pain or discomfort and then
it all hit me at once. I can't stand for long periods of time or my
legs and back start to ache, I've had diarrhea for the last 2 days,
My lower back hurts when I sit up and i feel like i've been kicked between the legs, It feels like i have a pulled muscle down there and it hurts to walk or even turn over in bed.

The only thing that keeps me from complaining and just breaking
down and crying is knowing that it's allllllllll gonna be over soon.
I'm still dilated between 2-3cm. But tonight I'm getting induced SO
hopefully I'll get some relief by tomorrow.
It won't be long now Debbie, you've still got time to dilate before they even think about a c-section. Everything will get better, just remember you're soooo close! "

" Try nipple stimulation and a pressure point in between your thumb and index finger. I did those starting a 37 weeks and gave birth a day early and was dialetd 3-4 cms at 38 weeks. Good luck Hun. Hang in there "

" may i ask why you are not induceable? I was not dialted at all with 2 of 3 of mine and was induced. I agree that I would not want a C-section eiter..that is my worst fear. I would really beg my dr if i were you to be induced, but that is my preference. I was miserable with 2 of mine and they induced me just for the relief..they knew the baby was healthy size and at 38 weeks would be fine so they did it. I have heard of using castor oil also bring on labor...Good luck, hope something happens soon for you. "

" Awful as this sounds, the diarrhea is a great sign!!! The body is trying to evacuate your bowels in preparation for the baby being born :) This lasted on and off just under a week for me (mainly off, just with odd contractions) until the day after labour began. Right before my waters broke it sent me runnng to the loo with every contraction (which was great, I didn't poo myself in labour lol) an hour and a half later I was 5cm and at the hospital! Our girl was born 5hours after arriving at the hosptal. Best of luck!!! :) xx "

" Thanks everyone, and I'm so excited for you Jessyca!
I didn't see my regular doctor today, I saw another member of the practice (she was mean) and she said, I was not inducible because I was only dilated a fingertip, and I need to be more dilated before they induce me. I rather go naturally, cause I feel my baby is the best judge, but I never been in this much pain, every step is agony. She said I would be asking for a c-section if I asked to be induced right now. I'm going to try walking around the mall several times tomorrow, with my hubby and see if that helps. As for castor oil, I refuse to try it, I have bad enough diarrhea, and don't want to encourage it to be worst.
I've been bouncing up and down on the birthing ball, seeing if that will help.
I really would like her to not come on my due date if at all possible, considering that's my evil MIL's birthday, but we'll see. She seems quite comfy and cozy in there, and I'm just so tired of this.

" definantly try the nipples. When I went for a stress test with my son they made me lay on the hospital bed (cant remember if the door was open or not lol and play with my nipples. This enduced contractions enough for the test then they quickly told me to stop because my son was stress.

I have heard that none of the little tricks will work if your baby is not ready to come out. ANd if your already having contractions I dunno if the boobs would work except to bring them closer together possible???? "

" Well, 2 days till due date... and nothing happening. I know I may sound impatient, but I'm in such pain. It shoots up and down my spine into my legs, my hips feel like they're going to explode and I can hardly walk. I'm constantly nauseous. :( I walked around the mall yesterday for over an hour, tried sex (it wasn't fun, it hurt too much), and have tried the nipples thing. I had some contractions last night, but they were so erratic, one was 6 mins from the other, and then it would be 13 mins till the next one, then 8 then 26... it wasn't regular at all. :(
*sigh*
Wake me up when she gets here.

Debbie "

" the pressure point that was mentioned is a good one to try. its what they use in acupuncture to induce. if acupuncture isn't an option, squeeze and rub that point- you will know you hit it because it's not comfortable.

NOT MEANT TO SCARE ANYONE: that pressure point is not used in early pregnancy/before it's safe to deliver because of how well some women respond; some go into early labor and others miscarry if it's done in early pregnancy. "
