Flying and Pregnancy

I was wondering how for into pregnancy it is safe to fly? One of my co-workers is trying to get out of a 3 1/2 hour flight in january by pusing it off onto me. I'll be about 27 weeks at that point and I really don't want to do it, but I will likely need a legitimate reason not to.

" The cut off is usually 36 weeks in a normal, healthy pregnancy. Some airlines have their own rules regarding pregnant women flying. "

" I had to travel a lot with my first PG, and by 5 months I told my boss I am done. Not b/c of how far along I am, but b/c i would be traveling alone and lifting heavy baggage. Just isn't worth it. Now with all the swine flu, why take chances. I think you being 27 wks is excuse enough and no one should challenge u on it. "

" I fly a lot for work and my OB said no flying after 28 weeks and wrote me a note. I have placenta previa and ended up getting grounded at 20 weeks. Ask your OB.... "

" Airlines say 32 or 36 weeks, but you should definitely be able to get out of a flight b/c of your pregnancy.

I'd talk to your OB and tell them you aren't comfortable flying at 27 weeks and would like them to write you an excuse.

Pregnancy should be all about YOU and Baby - not your co-worker! "
