Okay So I posted a while back about the doctor putting me on flagyl for an infection. Well, me being such a whimp decided not to take it because I'm really sensitive to high doses of antibiotics and sometimes they make me really sick.
So I asked if there was any other medicine he could put me on and he chose Metronidazole Vaginal Gel which is basically the same thing as Flagyl its just administered differently. But, me being whimpy again, looked up the side effects and although they aren't really that bad one thing that scared me a little was some women complained of a brown/black disharge. Just for the record I would FREAK OUT if this happened to me, but others said it worked fine for them and they barely had any side effects. Has anyone else taken this medicine? I have been on that but not during pregnancy. That would probably be safer anyway than something orally. I had bacterial vaginosis when I was put on that, and ended up having to use two prescriptions in a row for 2 wks cause apparently I had a stronger case of it (or didn't use it right the first time). Good luck, you're gonna have to use something one way or the other. By the way, I didn't have a discolored discharge while or after the med.

That makes me feel a lot better. I think a bunch of people on the site i was on made up some of the crap they experienced. Because it doesnt seen like vaginal gel would cause psychosis. I just took my first dose, so hopefully everything goes okay. (=

i have taken both the pill and the applicator. both are fine, but i find the pill works much better. and yes, i've taken it while pregnant.
