I came over from the teen pregnancy group, not to bother you guys, but because I feel I could get a more knowledgeable respond here.
I know that having sex can cause you to go into labor, but what about a clitoral orgasm? I know both orgasms cause your brain to release oxytocin (the natural form of pitocin, which they use to induce labor), which makes my question seem pretty dumb. Both orgasms release oxytocin, which can cause you to go into labor, but can masturbating cause labor? I'm sort of nervous about it, and I feel odd asking (but I'm going crazy here, girls!). I'm 35 weeks pregnant but the baby has dropped, and the woman who did my ultrasound last week said it wouldn't be surprising if he was born up to a month early, which would be this week! (She also added that he doesn't seem like he would be born unhealthy based on the ultrasounds and the fact that they estimate he weighs about 6 or 7 pounds). Does it seem risky to er... I dont really think so. As far as I know, it is safe to have sex and orgasm right up until the day you give birth, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. (High risk pregnancies, etc) As long as you haven't been givn any warnings, I would say go for it.

any orgasm causes the sympathetic contracting taht can lead to labor. And being born early can be problematic so I would avoid it until you are closer to 37 weeks.
