" i was scheduled like that too... but basically they just looked really hard at the appointment and decided not to do it afterall. They don't really want to do it during pregancy, but will do it carefully if it looks needed.

i would make sure to make them aware of your concerns when you get to the doctor that day.

they don't really hurt.. it is kinda like a pap, but more detailed.

I missed mine after my last preg, and that is why they wanted to do one... but they said it wasn't necessary afterall and they would wait until after the baby was born.

good luck "

" I had a colpo. when I was pregnant with my daughter. It is totally safe during pregnancy. All it is is a detailed look in there. As long as they dont mess with the os (the opening to your cervix) it wont cause any problems with your pregnancy. They cant, however, do a LEEP during pregnancy. They did take a biopsy when they did my colpo and it was a bit uncomfortable, and I did have some minor cramping afterward, but nothing extreme. In my case, it was a relief to have it done, and to ultimately find out what was going on. If I had opted out, I would have spent 9 months worrying myself sick about the million possibilities. "
