im 18 weeks pregnant and crazy worried

I have a scan in 10 days so not long. But anyway i am just so worried. I havnt felt movement yet i dont think. This is my 1st by the way. But i just cant shake the feeling somethings not quite right. I went to the doctor tuesday and i have a water infection. Whie i was there she felt my uterus and asked me questions about my pregnancy (she is not my pregnancy doctor) and i didnt ask her if it felt ok. She also asked me if when my next midwife appointment is and when i have my scan. I cant help thinking she asked me this as she thought something was wrong when she felt my tummy.However she no's im a worrier and could of been just generaly asking
I cant believe i forgot to ask and its not easy to see her especiially not to ask her questions. But if there was something wrong she would of sent me for tests wouldnt she? Posted on 10/09/09, 11:10 am |

Can you call the dr's office and just ask if the dr. put anything in your record or file to verify that there isn't anything wrong?

jessi has a great idea.
Being your doc she just probally wanted to make sure everything was on tract and being handled. my ob often comes in and in a whirl wind feels my tummy hears the heartbeat asks a couple questions and out the door again. Mind you I LOVE my doc and he will stop and reassure anytime its needed if you remember to stop and ask lol. You leave feeling as if you dont know how things really are. I assure you if she thought there was something wrong she would have said something. Her licences is on the line had she have seen you and there been problems and her not act its her butt on the line. I wouldnt worry too much

If she thought there was something wrong she liekly would have sent you right away to be looked at.

if something was wrong, they would have told you then, that's their job. this is my first pregnancy too. i havent felt any definite kicks or punches yet but im only 19 wks. ive had some quickening- feels like gas but at the same time of the day. just relax (hard to do!) and should start to feel something in the next month or so.
do you have the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting"? it is a great investment, especially for first timers. saved me a lot of phone calls to the doc!

Just remember, with your first, you don't feel it as soon. I didn't feel my first until about 21 weeks. Also, it is standard procedure to have a scan at this point in your pregnancy. They do measurements, and all kinds of things to make sure everything is okay and on track. DO IT...it's so amazing to see your baby!!

Try no to be worried.
I felt my first at 18wks but didn't feel my second until 20wks. The first movements can be hard to distinguish from other things going on in your body. I think your regular docotr was probably just doing a general check abd didn't give any information because she is not specialized in the area. Try to stay busy over the next 10 days, I know gfrom my own experience that sitting around doing nothing but waiting for an appointment doesn't do anything but give you time for your mind to run wild thinking the worst. You will feel better if you get busy while you wait. I definitely think that you would have been sent for tests if your doctor thought there was any kind of problem, so have a little faith & think the best!

I was almost 22 weeks with my first one b-4 I felt anything.. I felt my 2nd one much sooner..
