Flu Shot

I was just wondering how many of you that are going to be pregnant this flu season are planning on getting a flu shot? My doctor wants me to get one because I'm a teacher and will be pregnant all of flu season. I'd like to get one as well but just don't want to jeopardize the baby in any way. What are you ladies planning on doing?

" I am a CNA and will be also working through the whole flu season, my work was offering the flu shot but I didn't get it b/c of being pregnant. I would rather be blowing my brains out and that before getting something that might hurt the baby. "

" They are perfectly safe in the first trimester now. Before you had to wait until the third to get it. Both my OB & my allergist insisted I get one asap. So I did. "

" I decided not to get one. My dr. didn't suggest it, and I didn't ask him. I'm a teacher, too. I do think it's totally safe to get one, though. "

" Hmmm... My dr advised I get one, but now that I think about it, I rarely go out, don't work, etc, so maybe it isn't necessary afterall. I don't know, I'll probably end up getting one soon. I just love that pain in the arm! *L* "

" my doctor advised me against it. He said unless I had asthma it was suggested that I not get it. I think it is better to not get it than find out later that the vaccination could cause un-needed issues. However, it is best to follow your doctors advice. "

" I got my flu shot at 7 weeks, I believe. Just an fyi, you can only have the shot, you cannot take the inhaled nasal spray because it is a live virus. It is perfectly safe! "
