Hey everyone,
I just have a quick question. My names Kristin and I was diagnosed with PP, when I was about 3, and put on lupron. I am 22 now and when I was diagnosed there was not a lot of information out, and Lupron had just gone on the market. I was just curious if anyone had asked their doctors if their daughter got pregnant in the future if there is any chance their children could get it, or if it would be hard to get pregnant? I've heard different things, and at the time my doctor told me that I would be fine having kids or getting pregnant. Though I know medical news changes over the years. I know when I had it, they just figured out what PP is. Anybody hear anything different from their doctors? I'm just curious. Thanks so much guys! Posted on 10/28/09, 10:10 am |

Hi, My daughter was dia. when she was 3 yr. old. I had asked the same question. Her endo. says that just because she has it that doesn't mean that her children will have it. So I took that for good news. And that is why my husband and I out her on the injection instead of the implant because then with her being on the injection it would be easier for her ovaries to restart. But she is only 5 yrs. old now so we still have a long way to go. I hope this was helpful for you.

I used fertility treatment to get pg with my daughter. I wonder if this is her cause ?

Hey Jeannie,
i'm almost positive that you having taken fertility drugs wouldn't of caused her to get PP. Did a doctor tell you that, or are you just curious? I've never heard of a child getting PP because of that.

In my situation, my Mom did not use any fertility medication. It is a very interesting topic you bring up though Jeannie. I haven't heard of any relation between fertility medication and PP before. Some people seem to believe it may be related to plastics. One person on this site thinks it may be related to soy products her baby had for formula growing up (because of higher estrogen levels in soy). Personally, until there is more evidence, I believe it is just random in all populations throughout the world. Perhaps it is just something that is triggered in children's brains when they consume something poor for their body. The way I look at it, is it was just the card I was dealt with, and I got through it with no issues. Most of all, out of all the terrible diseases and birth defects out there, I think PP is definitely one of the easiest to have. It sure beats things like leukemia, physical mutations, or mental illness.
