Is 10 year old 'too old' for treatment?

Hy daughter (just 1 month past her 10th b day) has obvious breast development - way more than any of her friends and a bit of pubic hair, no period yet. Her ped (today's well visit) said since she grew 4 inches last year she will likely get her first period this year --- she is very upset about being the only one with breasts and does not want her perois. My biggest concern is that she is only 4' 8" ------ I do not want her being any shorter than she has to be. I am 5'2" her dad is 6'. I always wanted to be taller (still do!) --- if I use the drug treatment will that help her reach her full height potential? Her ped thinks she is 'normal', although I don't see any of her friends having to wear a bra. I don't want to waste time but also maybe she is just going to get her period early and be short (ugghh).

hi, I just joined this group today, and just read your post. I don't know if I can answer your question but I had PP as a child and was diagnosed at 3. My advice would be to get another doctors opinion. I went for treatments at childrens hospital and to Umass memorial in worcester. They have incredible doctors, and have helped me so much. (I was given lupron). I am not sure where you are from, but if you are from my area, I would look into talking to one of the specialists there and getting another opinion. Hope this helps!

hi my now 10 year old was diagnosed at the age of 7.she has breasts,pubic hair she sweats,but has not had a period as yet,cuz she has been having injections every 3 months 2 slow the process down.at the moment she is not recieving treatment as she wants 2 feel normal and just hats them and me 4 letting her have them.i was doing the best 4 her but it has cum bk round and slapped me in the face.a lot of her school friends r starting 2 develop now so iv left her as it is at the moment.
