I woke up this morning with a call from my mom saying she would be leaving because her and my exchange student would be going shopping. I, who hates shopping, immediately started crying. Then she told me that my neighbor couldn't take me to work and I got mad and I started yelling at her. Now I'm smiling and all is good. This was all in the span of 30 minutes. I'm sure today and the next few weeks will hold many spontaneous tears and random outbursts. Numerous but short spaces of depression are sure to be on their way too. This will go on for about 3 weeks; two before my period and one after.

Is that all normal? Any advice for controlling the emotions spewing from me?

" Well it def. sounds like you are having mood swings! Of course before and during your period you are bound to be moody... When I'm mad I try and be by myself to sort my feelings out then after I have everything under control I confront the person who is upsetting me. I've learned yelling at them doesn't always help the situation sometimes it makes it worse. - Hope this helps you! "

" I promise myself not to yell and it nearly always work until someone upsets me. If people show no consideration for my feelings I "burst". My Chinese Acupuncturist suggested not be with people when under PMS, because very often emotional outbursts are unavoidable. According to her a walk in the fresh air, sitting alone on a bench, taking time to gather ones thoughts is essential. And I believe her. When PMS is over, life always gets better, no matter what. "
