" I know everyobody is different... i was given Paxil and told that I should start feeling better within a week and notice a marked difference in two weeks. If not, I was told to call my doctor and she would prescribe something else. For me, the Paxil worked, and i've been taking it for a month now, so i didn't need to try anything else. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing what will work until you try. Maybe this medication isn't the right one. Don't wait any longer and call your doc, they'll tell you if you need to try something else.
Hang in there, it does get better...I promise!! it's not like, bam!! two weeks have gone by and you wake up feeling great...it's a slow but constant recovery...every day a bit better... "

" Hi Tray,

I was put on Effexor and i noticed a Huge improvement within a week or two weeks MAX. Everybody is different and all medication is different, i agree with help2009 . You should contact your dr asap and perhaps try something different... But dont give up on medication all together..I was on my medication for prob 3 months and i was feeling great so i took myself off them , and that was the worse thing i could have done, i fell back into my depressed ways and i was just Sad all the time... Like you i used to ignore my husband and not talk to him...

Anyway my daughter will be two in a couple of weeks and i only now am feeling happy about being a mum and not sad all the time. I tell you this not to make you feel worse but to give you hope and to promise it really does get better. Hope i have helped you a little

Take care

:) "

" Thanks for the advice. Its been almost 2 months now.I feel good most of the time.I do still have bad days. The hardest thing to deal with is not bonding with my baby. She is 3 months old now.I love her to pieces and I take care of her and would never neglect her but I dont feel that special bond yet.
Did you all feel that way? "

" i did. sh is now two and it didnt really start until after her first birthday. the way i see it is that it means that much more when it does happen. and the best advice any one gave me was fake it till you make it. which you seem to be doing. hang in there the want to bond is a factor in actually getting one. just be gentle with yourself and give yourself credit for all you've done and all you've had to over come. Kudos to you. =) "
