I was wondering if anyone else has tried desipramine for post partum. I was prescribed it 6 days ago for depression/panic attacks and I felt worse then ever the last couple days.

" I'm no expert but I think sertraline (or Zoloft if you are in the US) seems to be what many of the people on this site are taking. It has worked quite well for me and doesn't interfere with breastfeeding "

" they told me it would take about 2 weeks but it only really took the edge off initially. If you don't feel better after 2-4 weeks go back and up your dose. i started off on the lowest dose and it was ok until the slightest crisis and I was back to square one almost. I'm now on 100mgand I've never looked back! It did make me feel a bit sick and dizzy when I took it on an empty stomach though!! "

" I would just like to encourage you ladies.I had the worst ever ppd.I had severe anxiety, depression, crushing guilt,couldnt eat couldnt sleep, would have crying meltdown in the bathrrom/shower.I was afraid to be home alone.
I also after starting to feel better from meds had my post baby cycle and hemmorraged!!!Like that wasnt enough.Well here I sit almost 3 weeks from a year later.I feel so much better.I feel like me again.There is hope.And no you arent crazy or psychotic.I am on lexapro,effexor,buspar,klonopin, and metformin.I have lost 13 pounds in a month and a half!!
