Hi Ladies,
After exploring many options for severe migraines it looks like the best medication I can use is not safe for breast feeding, I have PPD and 'm going to have to wean my baby pretty quickly. I've heard that weaniing can make PPD even worse. Does anyone have any tips for how to do this successfully? Thanks for your help. Posted on 08/28/09, 07:08 am |

I haven't breastfed because of meds for bipolar disorder so I have no idea but I'm here if you need me. I had post partum depression, borderline psychosis and it SUCKED, so Im right here with you. Just take solace in that it will go away I promise.
Theres these bottles called "breast flow" which act like the breast when baby's suck on it....they need to use the same motion. Maybe "pumping and dumping" will help? you'll still be producing milk and stuff plus if the medicine doesnt work, you could go back to breastfeeding? Just a thought, maybe more trouble than its worth let me know how you do ok?

Thank you for the kind words dncn4lyfe77. I will look into those bottles for sure! I am thinking I will pump and dump for a few weeks while I figure out if this medicine is even going to work. Thanks for your support!
