Hi everyone! I just joined DS today, so I'm completely new here, and not sure exactly how it all works yet, but I'm sure I'll figure it all out, but I could use a little help from everyone in getting started here in this group!

" I'm getting the hang of things!! I've found some really great groups! I havent participated much in this one yet, because I've been so interested in the other ones! But I want to spend some time here too, because a lot of what I have been dealing with, regarding my mother, has caused me to have PTSD... In fact, right now I'm considering going no contact with my mother, and that will cause even more because I will feel guilty about keeping my children from knowing and spending time with their grandparents, but on the other hand, I dont think I want them around my children! And they do have wonderful grandparents on my husbands side... and I do have to think og my own well being and frame of mind too in order to be the best I can for my family! ... How are you NSM? "

" Welcome...

You've found THE group on DS!!! This group actually has a reputation on DS, as I'm sure you'll find out by browsing the other groups. We are known as being one of if not THE most supportive, kind, helpful, and caring groups here. I state this both from the support I've received here and seen in this group and others... but you will see other people who feel the same as I do... both in this group and in others on DS.

You'll find that we all share the same request from you... We will be here for you as well as we can be and when we can be. All we ask in return is that you pay that forward to others here when, if, and as you can. We lean on each other, we support each other, we try to not trigger each other (even if we sometimes do it unintentionally) and we dump our raw emotions and thoughts here too (Most will suggest and appreciate a "...MAY TRIGGER" comment on the subject line if the message or journal entry is particularly raw). While our symptoms and traumas may be different, we are all in this together and we are all of one voice. When one of us cries, we all cry, and when one of us heals, we all heal.

So, now you know how THIS group works. :-) Above all, be gentle to yourself. You're the only one who truly can be.

D. "
