Say, for all you ladies out there:

My wife is super stressed. She has a friend dying of cancer. She was mishandled by her ex husband, and has PTSD -- that's why I'm in this group. The question: Is it normal for her to tell me she isn't sure if I can handle the kids if something were to happen to her? She told me the other night she thinks I have a monster inside me, and if pushed I could actually abuse the kids. Frankly, them's fighten' words, if not grounds to consider divorce. She was triggered, and is better now. How much credence do I give her comments?

" My two cents is to keep in mind she has been traumatized. And those memories stick embedded in her brain. She is under much stress so her keeping her actions under her control is hard. It seems she is projecting her past trauma and underlying fears [although they may have NOTHING to do with you as a person] onto you. It is something she needs to work out with a counselor. But no she probobly doesnt know what she is saying, and is in pain, and doesnt know how to cope and move forward and have a different, new healthy relationship without being scared. "
