Hi ss4,
I have a few questions for you first: what level or grade of education is your class elementary, high school or college?

What do you feel the 'real' facts are concerning PTSD?

Do you or anyone you know of suffer from PTSD?

I would be glad to share my experience with PTSD but after you supply the information as sjaypetwo stated.

I agree that I would like to have more information about your report etc.. before committing to you. I hope you understand that what you are asking people to do is divulge very personal experiences, feelings and information which is why many of us would be questioning your intentions.

I am doing this project for a high school pschycology report. I am drawn to this subject in learning the underlying facts of how people develop PTSD. I want to spread awareness. I would love to tell my class real stories and help them to learn the effects.

I do not know anyone suffering from PTSD, beause of this I am trying to extend my research.

Based on your answers here's my response:
1st. High school is a good ground to share awareness so I don't reccommend getting too deep or too specific.
2nd. I reccommend your report include a disscussion of how broad the range of traumatic events is that are traumatizing and that carry the potential to cause one to develope ptsd.
3rd. I reccommend comments from sufferers like us only to be included as a demonstration of the different walks of life and traumas experienced and still develope ptsd as support for step 2.
this is my two cents worth and is just my opinion.

p.s. we are all usually very cautious and hyperviligent by nature of ptsd that having been said if you abuse us, '...there are those who will find you... you will regret it...' :D (noThreat intended) :D

As spjaypetwo stated ...please do not abuse this privilege that we are giving you..it is not generally in our nature to trust others with anything that could be used against us or cause further harm to be done to us...this is a big step of faith for those of us who are willing to do it....

Hi, I'd be happy to help you. My PTSD was diagnosed after I was directly involved in a fatal accident 5 years ago. I've had 2 Doctors tell me that my PTSD is the same as what war veterans experience. Please let me know what questions I can answer for you. Best of Luck and I truly hope the research you are doing emphasizes the powerful impact any trauma has on one's life and the people around them.
