Can being physically attacked by bullies and teased mercylessly for several years at school to the point where you try to stay awake at night so the time will pass more slowly till you go to school again, result in PTSD?

" I've known people who were bullied who flinched and jumped when people just walked pass them. One tried to OD because they were forced to go back after a bad beating. So - Ya, totally a PTSD thing. "

" Thankyou for saying this, it really mean it, it makes me feel less crazy about some of the thoughts I have. Like the anxiety I have when I am around people sometimes.

Somtimes I worry about what my friends really think about me whether they are really sincere with me. Sometimes I feel almost paranoid like nobody could really like me that they may ridicule me, I hate this feeling I really do I mean what did I do that I have to feel like this. "

" PTSD can develop for lots of reasons. Have you been to your GP and explained your symptoms? It's best to get professional advice to be sure you get the correct treatment. Wishing you well "

" The laying awake nights to make it longer is a coping mechanism that is part of PTSD, let alone results in it.

I too would talk to a GP or therapist... but I implore you to find someone who is trained in PTSD. If it isn't, and is a more simple anxiety, they'll know and help you. If it is PTSD, they can help you there too.

I've just seen (from my own experience and others here) that suspecting PTSD, even people confirming that it seems to be PTSD, that if you don't find someone who specializes in the "disorder" you can actually have more harm done than good.

Be gentle to yourself!
