" This book helped me to understand my condition. I learned that it was way less my fault than I thought. It was a culture, a family, and few ill people that caused my pain. It really helped me find some understanding in the huge mountain of emotions I was going through.

I especially liked the history section and how Freud first wrote about hysteria and the talking cure. He touched on sexual abuse but suffered such a huge backlash that he had to recant. Unfortunately we haven't come very far.

One of my favorite books on the topic. "
